From a young age I developed a love for games, the original Battlefront 2 and the 2006 Cars video game being a few standouts from my early childhood. My biggest inspiration in pursuing game development though, came after I unwrapped an Xbox 360 along with a copy of Halo: Reach one Christams. From the moment I finished that campaign, I knew that I wanted to be a game developer when I grew up. At the same time though, I was also developing a passion for music as I taugh myself to play guitar.
I carried this passion with me as I entered college at The Ohio State University.
I enrolled as a computer science major, still planning on entering the games industry, but after my first year I discovered an incredibly niche program
the School of Music had, which combined computer science and a music education into one degree. It was so niche in fact, that I was actually only
the second person to enroll in it. I wasn't certain at the time where this path would lead me in my career after college, but I wanted the ability to pursue
my passions in both game development and music.
As I progressed through college I played in a few bands, notably one called Campus Park
(named after the noturiosly loathed campus parking enforcement), that released an EP in which I assisted in recording, editing, and producing the album.
After this release, I started pursuing music composition and production more seriously. Simultaneously, my computer science classes were focusing more on game development,
and it was then that I realized that sound design was a perfect blend of my two passions.
When it came time for my senior project, I decided to work with a group of CSE students who were developing a 2D space roguelike called Final Bounty.
I would be in charge of creating and implementing all audio assets for the game, including producing a soundtrack. This ended up being a challenging learning experience,
but one that made me certain about pursuing music and sound design in games as a career.
After graduating I started getting involved in game jams where I further developing my skills in programming, game design, sound design, and
music production, until I eventually decided to develop my own indie game (check out my youtube channel linked above).
I take inspiration in my music from a very wide variety of artists, ranging from Debussy to Nine Inch Nails.
Consequently, I love making music in many different styles. If you have a project that you think I might be a good fit for,
